Derek Dallas Carr or Derek Carr, the younger brother of previous NFL quarterback, David Carr, and the quarterback for the NFL Oakland Raiders, was born on 28th March 1991. In the second 2014 NFL Draft round, he was selected by the Raiders. He also played for his college football team at Fresno State.
Derek Carr, the youngest of three children of Sheryl and Rodger Carr, was born in Bakersfield, California in 1991. In 2002, he along with his family shifted to Sugar Land, Texas when David Carr, his oldest brother, was picked as first overall draft by the expanded team of Houston Texans. For his senior years at Bakersfield Christian High School he along with his family again returned to Bakersfield.
At Clements High School in Sugar Land, Texas Carr started his football career at high school. He became a backup quarterback in the varsity team after playing in his first year in the freshman team. Though he didn’t prepare to be a quarterback from the very start but he has to perform in this role after an injury to the other quarterback during preseason practice. After that he gradually grew up as a beginner with Clements High School team. In 2008, by the end of his junior years, Carr committed verbally to Fresno State and for 2009 class he was the initial draft of the program.
After being enrolled at Fresno State as a fresh man for the spring semester, Carr was able to participate with Bulldogs in the spring football. At the beginning, the head coach at Fresno State, Pat Hill, evaluated Carr as a mix for the position of a freshman and a quarterback but before the start of 2009 season he allowed him to start as a quarterback with his junior, Ryan Colburn. Later he joined his Bakersfield native fellow Phillip Thomas like the second CFPA winner of the school. He joined David Carr and Trent Dilfer as another quarterback from Fresno State to win the Heisman trophy and finishes at 8th position in voting.

Derek Carr’s Professional career
Carr in 2014
As professional quarterback the career of Carr started in 2014 when he was selected in the second round of 2014 NFL Draft by Oakland Raiders. The fans and coaches of the final preseason games of Raiders against Seattle Seahawks were impressed by the performance of Carr as support to Matt Schaub and scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and another touchdown in the second quarter. On 1st September Carr’s coach declared him as the opener quarterback of the team over Matt Schaub against Jets of New York, who will not be reviewed every week. Thus Derek Carr became the original rookie quarterback in the history of raiders from the very first week of draft class of 2014. On 7th September 2014 he started the first regular season of his career against New York Jets after two touchdowns and passing 151 yards in pre-debut session. But initially Raiders lost to game to Jets for 14-19. In the fifth start of his career Carr made history on 12 October 2014 against San Diego Chargers when he set record for Oakland raiders by passing most touchdowns in a single season attended regularly.
Carr in 2015
Initially Carr could not participate as opener in 2015 season due to injury in his throwing hand which was later on found negative in the MRI. He returned in the second week of the season and Raiders got first win against Baltimore Ravens by 37-33 by scoring 3 touchdowns and passing 350 yards. His dominance continued even against Cleveland Browns in the third week of the season.
Carr in 2016
On 20th January 2016, an announcement was made that Carr would replace Aaron Rodgers for 2016 Pro Bowl which made him the first Raiders quarterback since 2002 in the Pro Bowl, after Rich Gannon.

As sophomore he scored for 12 touchdowns and passed 1246 yards whereas as junior 16 touchdowns and 1622 yards. He led his team undefeated to 13-0 season as a junior before losing a quarterfinal in 2007 to the eventual champion, Katy High School.
In 2011 Carr became the starting quarterback for Fresno State after completing his 2010 season. During these three years he scored 113 touchdowns and passed 12,843 yards.
On 20th November 2014, Carr led previously defeated Raiders against Kansas City Chiefs to win this time by 24-20. Before the entry of Carr in the fourth quarter the Raiders followed the Chiefs by 20-17 but Carr’s drive of 80 yard drive that ended nearly more than 7 minutes led the team to win the first success of the season.
The rookie season of Carr was finished with 21 touchdowns and 3,270 passing yards and just 12 interceptions. Hence after Rich Gannon, 2002, he became the foremost of the Raiders to start all the 16 games as quarterback.
**Carr created a franchise record during week 8 in 2016 by passing 513 yards and four touchdowns in opposition to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win the game by 30-24 for Raiders.
Carr as a senior guided the Eagles football team with a record of 12-1 along with v championship of Central Section Division of California Interscholastic Federation. He was selected the National Football Player of the Week by ESPN RISE on 29th October, 2008, after three touchdowns and passing for 441 yards.
On 7th November, 2008 he ultimately set a record with Central section by winning a game in opposition to Arvin High School by throwing 544 yards. He was also selected All-Area Football Player of the Year 2008.
After finishing his football career at high school Carr was nominated as the National Player of the Year by the National Private Schools Athletic Association in 2009.
In 2013 he won the trophy of Sammy Baugh which is awarded every year to the top collegiate passer of the nation. During the same year also received award of CFPA Elite QB for his performance at Fresno State for three seasons.
Carr made history in the start of his career for the fifth time on 12 October 2014 in opposition to San Diego Chargers when he set record for Oakland raiders by passing most of the touchdowns in one regular season.
The dominant performance of Carr was in the 7th week of the season against the San Diego Chargers when he threw 3 touchdowns for 289 yards and put up passer rating at 137.7.
After two seasons the touchdowns passed by Carr in his career were the second best scored by a quarterback after Dan Marino in 1968.
